On EU topics in Plandište and Alibunar

On Thursday, 1st November 2018, the representatives of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Milan Čežek and Zoran Pavić, as well as the representative of the Development Agency of Vojvodina, Živko Planić, visited the municipalities of Plandište and Alibunar to enhance the monitoring and implementation of European processes and strengthening of the institutional capacities of AP Vojvodina.

In Plandište, their hosts were Goran Donevski, Deputy President of the Municipality, Endre Szabo, President of the Municipal Assembly and Aleksandra Mak Odavić, Head of the Municipal Administration.

In Alibunar, the guests were welcomed by Dušan Dakić, President of the Municipality, Oliver Filipović, Assistant President of the Municipality for Finance, as well as Vladimir Petrović, Adviser to the President of the Municipality.

The municipality of Plandište has submitted a project application on street lighting under the INTERREG IPA CBC Programme Romania-Serbia. The municipal representatives were interested in enhancing their project activities, thus they were informed about the elements and procedures necessary for formulating successful project proposals under EU calls, as well as about a possible solution to the restoration of the health centre and supply of equipment for it, which was planned for the following period.

As far as the municipality of Alibunar is concerned, the representatives have put great effort in the reconstruction of the sewerage network and procurement of a wastewater purifier by means of projects under the Romania-Serbia CBC Programme.

The representatives of the municipalities indicated the need for the capacity building of their staff in EU funds management in the coming period and for learning how to formulate project proposals on their own. They were informed about the fact that during the training course, the participants developed the skills and attitudes necessary for taking an active role in the development of projects both at the local and regional level. In this regard, an agreement was made for the European Affairs Fund of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina to organize the training course “EU Funding Opportunities” in the already agreed timeframe.
