The European Commission adopted the Interreg-IPA CBC Hungary-Serbia programme 2014-2020
The European Commission (EC) adopted the cross-border cooperation programme between Hungary and Serbia – Interreg-IPA CBC Hungary-Serbia Programme for 2014-2020 on 15th December 2015.
The programme objective is support to CBC projects intensifying economic cooperation in the border area through sustainable use of natural and cultural resources. The Programme focuses on improving cross-border water management and risk prevention systems: reducing traffic bottlenecks in the cross-border transport network; encouraging cooperation in tourism and cultural heritage preservation; and enhancing SMEs’ economic competitiveness through innovation-driven development.
The eligible area of the Programme includes 9 counties/districts: in Hungary, Bács-Kiskun and Csongrád, and in Serbia, West Bačka, North Bačka, South Bačka, North Banat, Central Banat, South Banat and Srem.
The total EU contribution to the Programme from ERDF/IPA-Instrument for Pre Accession Assistance is EUR 65.12 million. The total budget of the Interreg-IPA CBC Hungary-Serbia Programme, including the national counterpart, i.e. own contribution of project partners, is EUR 76,62 million.
