Study visit of the fifth generation of the Specialised Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU funds”

The European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina has been implementing successfully the Specialised Programme “Management of Regional Development through EU funds”, which is funded by the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, for years.

The participants of the fifth cycle of the Specialised Programme have just finished a working visit to the Gorenjska region in the Republic of Slovenia. Namely, like the previous years, a study visit with special emphasis on successful EU funded projects has been organised on the basis of well-developed regional cooperation, and as a part of the Specialised Programme.

In addition to the Fund’s representatives, the participants of the study visit were the members of the fifth generation of the Specialised Programme, which has been implemented in cooperation with the Educons University from Sremska Kamenica. The participants are representatives of local self-governments, public and public utility companies, cultural institutions, provincial institutions and civil sector in the territory of AP Vojvodina.

The delegation was led by Vidosava Enderić, Director of the European Affairs Fund of AP Vojvodina, Nikola Žeželj, Director of the Vojvodina Development Agency, Goran Savić, Director of the Vojvodina Development Fund, and Duško Ćutilo, Director of the Fund for Assisting Refugees, Expelled and Displaced Persons.

The guests were welcomed by Rok Šimenc, Director of the Regional Development Agency of Gorenjska. Following that Jelena Vidović, project manager, presented several EU projects successfully implemented by the Agency together with Tamara Mravinec, assistant project manager at the Gorenjska Development Agency.

During their stay in the Gorenjska region, the participants visited a number of successfully implemented EU projects. Among them was the Center Triglav National Park Bohinj, beekeeping centre of Gorenjska, pool energy rehabilitation of within the REAAL project, Co-working Centre Kovačnica, ECO Hotel in Bohinj, as well as the Creative Center in Kranj.

Our delegation was received by Janez Fajfar, Mayor of Bled, Janez Černe, Deputy Mayor of Kranj, Branko Fartek, Director of Kranj Institute of Sport, Jana Vilman, Design Manager of Bohinj, and Alen Grilo, Director of the beekeeping centre of Gorenjska with his associates.

On the last day of the study visit, round tables were organized when the participants were able to discuss with the representatives of the Regional Development Agency of Gorenjska about the development of joint projects that could be submitted as applications for EU funds, with a special emphasis on the Adriatic-Ionian and Danube Transnational Programmes and on the topic of rural development, tourism and economy.
