Italian projects worth €20 million through regional cooperation

Udine, Italy – A visit has been paid to the Government of Friuli-Venezia Giulia Region during the stay of the delegation of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina (comprised of Dr. Gabor Lodi, Vice-president of the Executive Council of the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina, Predrag Novikov, Director of the Office for European Affairs, Siniša Lazić, Provincial Secretary of Economy, Predrag Grgić, Secretary of Regional and International Cooperation, and Daniel Petrović, Provincial Secretary for Agriculture, Water and Forestry) in Italy. The host, Graziano Lorenzon, Regional Director for International Relations, announced the realisation of three large projects in Vojvodina: two projects on irrigation and one on IT water control system, with a total value of about twenty million euros.A new amended protocol on cooperation between the region Friuli-Venezia Giulia and the Autonomous Province of Vojvodina was to be signed in Novi Sad in the following two months. Riccardo Illy, President of the Region of FVG and President of the Assembly of European Regions, characterised it as “significant and specific support for Vojvodina and Serbia towards the EU”. The Secretary for Agriculture, Enzo Marsilio, would be heading the delegation of businesspeople of the region of FVG while visiting the Agriculture Fair in Novi Sad.At the same time, the closing conference of the Initiatives of Socio-Economic Development of Vojvodina (ISSER project) was announced, which was realised by INFORMEST, a development agency of the region of FVG, and in the framework of which, Italian exsperts gave full support for our country’s institutional building for EU accession for more than a year and a half.
