OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM


General objective: The general objective of the Bulgaria-Serbia cross-border cooperation program is to encourage balanced and sustainable development of the border region between Bulgaria and Serbia integrated into the European space through smart economic growth, adaptation to environmental changes and improvement of the learning culture.

1.Sustainable tourism1.1. Attracting tourists: Supporting the development of competitive tourist attractions through cooperation contributing to the diversification of tourism products in the border region.
1.2. Cross-border tourism product: Creating economic benefits from the development of natural and cultural heritage in the border area through the creation of joint cross-border tourist destinations.
1.3. Networking (people-to-people activities): Capitalizing on the effects of tourism based on cultural, historical and natural heritage in border communities through joint activities.
2.Youth2.1. Skills and entrepreneurship: Support for the development of an attractive environment for the advancement of young people in the border region through cooperation.
2.2. Networking (people-to-people activities): Promotion of cooperation initiatives for and with young people, at the same time increasing the cross-border mobility of young people.
3.Environment3.1. Joint risk management: Prevention and mitigation of natural and man-made transboundary disasters.
3.2. Nature protection: Promoting and improving the use of common natural resources, as well as encouraging environmental protection in the program area through joint cross-border initiatives.
