Additional information:

The program should preserve, develop and promote European cultural and linguistic diversity and heritage. It should increase the competitiveness and economic potential of the cultural and creative, especially the audiovisual sector.

OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAM

Improve artistic and cultural cooperation at the European level; support the creation of European works; strengthen the economic, social and international dimension of the European cultural and creative sector; support innovation and mobility;
encourage cooperation and innovation, sustainability and competitiveness;
promote cross-sector innovative and collaborative projects, as well as a diverse, independent and pluralistic media environment / media literacy, thus encouraging freedom of artistic expression, intercultural dialogue and social inclusion.

IN ADDITION, the Creative Europe program promotes efforts and best practices that contribute to the achievement of key priorities of the European Commission, such as the Green Deal, inclusiveness and gender equality.

PRIORITIES AND MEASURES


Audience development
• Participation, intercultural dialogue, greater participation of citizens in culture, development of a common European space and market.
Mobility
• Unique European space, common cultural heritage, professional development of individuals, exchange of knowledge and experiences.
Capacity building
• Digital transition, new technologies, creation of new professions, Lisbon strategy, intersectoral and interdepartmental cooperation.

PROGRAM STRUCTURE


The Creative Europe program has 3 subprograms – CULTURE, MEDIA and INTERSECTORAL COOPERATION.

1. SUBPROGRAM CULTURE – which covers all areas of culture and art (with the exception of audio-visual and film activities)

The main newspapers within the Culture subprogramme are:

Stronger emphasis on European transnational creation, circulation of works and innovation in culture and the creative sector;
Easier access to project financing through the Creative Europe program through higher co-financing rates;
Adapted program for financing the mobility of artists and professionals;
Activities aimed at specific needs in the fields of music, literature, architecture, cultural heritage, design, fashion and cultural tourism.
Contests within the CULTURE subprogram:

EUROPEAN PROJECTS OF COOPERATION between cultural and creative organizations from different countries;
EUROPEAN NETWORKS of cultural and creative organizations that enable competitiveness and international activity of the cultural and creative sector;
EUROPEAN PLATFORMS for the promotion of emerging artists, establishing a platform for the promotion of new artists and encouraging European programs for cultural and artistic works;
CIRCULATION OF EUROPEAN LITERARY WORKS, an initiative to translate and promote literary works throughout the European Union

Special actions to reward and promote excellence and creativity such as awards for literature, music, architecture and cultural heritage, European Capitals of Culture and the Label of European Cultural Heritage.

2. MEDIA SUBPROGRAM – includes the audiovisual and film sector.

The MEDIA sub-programme will focus on:
Encouraging cooperation both within the industry and at European level to support European audiovisual companies and European content globally;
Nurturing talents wherever they come from and expanding participation and cooperation among different countries;
Supporting the use of new technologies to ensure the full use of digital transformation;
Encouraging the greening of the industry and incorporating social goals such as gender equality and diversity.

Competitions within the MEDIA subprogram are divided into 4 groups:
Content: encouraging collaboration and innovation in the creation and production of high-quality works.
Business: promotion of business innovation, competitiveness, growth opportunities and talent development with the aim of strengthening European industry in relation to global competitors.
Audience: strengthening the accessibility and visibility of audiovisual works among potential audiences, through support for distribution channels and audience development initiatives.
Cultural policy: supporting forums for discussion/exchange of policies, research and reports. Promoting activities aimed at raising awareness of various aspects of the industry.

3. INTER-SECTORAL COOPERATION – subprogram, which facilitates cooperation between creative sectors and includes the information media sector

The activities of the INTERSECTORAL subprogram will be focused on:
Transnational political cooperation: promoting familiarity with the program and supporting the transferability of results.
Creative Innovation Labs: promoting innovative approaches to content creation, availability, distribution and promotion in the cultural and creative sector.
Information media: support for media literacy, quality journalism, media freedom and pluralism.

The Culture subprogram is intended for organizations working in the field of culture and art – museums, archives, galleries, cultural centers, universities and scientific centers, civil society organizations, artists’ associations, theaters, art collectives, etc.
The MEDIA subprogram is intended for companies, organizations, festivals, individuals and networks from the audiovisual and multimedia sector – production houses for the development and production of innovative and quality projects in the field of film and TV programs, production houses working in the video game industry, distribution houses and companies for distribution and promotion of European films, film festivals, educational institutions dealing with film, as well as for networking and professional development of film and audiovisual professionals.
